intro I consider myself easygoing and openminded, but I do have some hard-set boundaries regarding roleplay and interactions with potential new friends/connections. Please read and understand all of the following before messaging me, thanks!

001. ㅤI valueㅤ open communication, honesty, and kindness. Do not attempt to guilt-trip, manipulate, or any other drama-mongering tactics. If I feel any of this is happening, I will not hesitate to sever the connection ICly and OOCly.
002. ㅤI amㅤ over thirty years old with a full time job; I have a life outside of FFXIV and outside of roleplay. I can not and will not roleplay with you (or anyone) constantly. Respect my time; I respect yours! Please also let me know if there are any sensitive subjects you would like to avoid or write about together in the future. I am always open for these types of discussions.
003. ㅤI am notㅤ my character; my character is not me. Do not conflate the two. Also, I do not tolerate racism, sexism, or ableism in any form. I understand nuance for hard topics exists in the role-play space, but blatant bigoted/hateful talk will find you blocked.

004. ㅤI will notㅤ l will not role-play with any player under 18 years of age. I will not role-play with any character ICly under 18 years of age. It makes me uncomfortable. In fact, I would much prefer my more long term RP partners to be in their mid to late 20's and older.
005. ㅤI preferㅤ the type of roleplay partner that is willing to chat about things OOCly and be casual friends outside of our stories together. I've found over the years that my role-play is much more enjoyable this way. If you're not open to this, then you may want to seek another writer that is more in line with your style.
006. ㅤZaid could beㅤ considered a content warning type of character. He's prone to violence as a mercenary and isn't shy about showing sexual interest in other characters. (He's horny.) If you are uncomfortable around the subjects of killing, murder, and/or talk of sex you may want to roleplay with another of my characters instead. Please see the "muses" button in the navigation.

ㅤpersonalityㅤㅤOutwardly uncomplicated, zaid is the type of man to keep his mouth shut unless he has something he really wants to say. This trait can make him seem quiet or stoic, but that assumption may lead to some surprises later. zaid has a twisted sense of humour, dry wit, and a temper. If angry, he is quick to turn to violence instead of words to settle the dispute. He isn't completely merciless though, despite what his reputation may suggest. It's clear Zaid has had a life fraught with violence, and he is a product of that environment. softness isn't part of his behaviour or vocabulary at this point in life. He will also make sexual passes at anyone he finds desirable, so...have a fun time if that's your style~ If not, though, take the compliment for what it is and move on. He will too, easily.

ㅤbiographyㅤㅤZaid looks to be anywhere between 28-45 years old. He has the body and shape of an above average size auri man. However, there are a few distinctions from the norm of that race if one looks closer. His scales appear different and cover more of his body, and the long, barbed and sharp scorpion-like tail stick out as markers against the theory of Zaid being an Au Ra. No, clearly he is something else, something currently nameless. Ask him about it though, and you probably won't get a straight answer. It's... not important.

Aside from his mysterious origins and race, the rest of Zaid is: "what you see is what you get." He is a mercenary, through and through. A bounty hunter of some repute. He worked pretty damn hard for that reputation too, though any rumours about him would likely only go back 5-10 years maximum. He isn't loyal to any one particular group or "boss" and prefers to remain a free agent to get the best prices for his work. He does take contracts, so his loyalty can be bought for a limited time. Or a better offer.

Zaid can be almost anywhere on Etheirys provided he has the funds to get there. At this point in his career he only accepts jobs with payment that seems worth his time. He's not a charity. When he's not working, the merc puts his feet up in the places you'd expect a man like him to be. Casinos, fight matches, brothels, etc., there's probably not a common vice that he hasn't at least dabbled in at some point in his strange life.

Though it wasn't for an extended period of time, Zaid did have a combat tutor who taught him more than just the art of fighting. Though Zaid is not from the Far East and bears no ties to it, he inherited a samurai soul crystal from the man who taught him most of what he knows now.

venom

The tail isn't just for show; zaid produces his own natural venom. he collects it and applies it to his sharps. every time skin is broken or armour pierced, his blade would inject the venom into the target's body. over time this eventually builds to paralysis or possibly death.

stamina

Zaid can keep fighting and fighting and fighting... He never seems to get tired or worn out no matter how long he keeps at it. He is consistent, like a machine built for one purpose in life. seemingly, the only way to stop the momentum is to land a hard or mortal blow.

gadgetry

Zaid doesn't use a whole lot of toys but he does bring some to play with on missions. Simple stuff like smokescreens, small explosives, and venomous traps are his go-to's, but he has a few hidden tricks up his sleeve if things take a turn for the worse. Even so, he still prefers the sword.
